The sweet is so near ....

... which makes the temptation even hugher. As today in the morning one of our guests asked me, where to go for good breakfast nearby, I decided to dedicate today's blog to Konditorei Klement (= Coffeehouse and Confectionary), which as the header suggests is only a stone's throw from the apartments.

Shortly for the statistics: For more then 40 years this family run business is located here in Hernals. Openinghours are Tuesday to Saturday from 7:30 till 18:30 and Sundays from 9:00 to 18:00. Any more details you find at the website of Konditorei Klement.

So for you my dear readers and guests this means you are spoilt for choice. Should it be an extensive and tasty breakfast, fine lunch or coffee, cakes and sweets in the afternoon?

Let us start with breakfast. Here you have really a large range you can choose from. It starts with "Quick breakfast" with coffee, handmade rolls, butter and selfmade jam and ends with "Breakfast for Two" with salmon, cheese, ham, bread, eggs, sweets and orangejuice. And beside that, you can even choose more things seperately (and we haven't yet taklked about the cakes and sweets)

If it is lunch you can make it to Klement, then you will find a wide range of snacks, typical small dishes for coffeehouses and alternating daily dishes.

In the afternoon you have again difficult decisions to take. First of all you have to decide either to get a seat in the coffeehouse, which most of the days is not that easy or to take the fine things home (or to the apartment). However your decision is, the next comes instantly. Then now you are infront of the vitrine, seeing all those fine and delicious cakes and sweets (lucky those who don't like sweets :-) ) and you have to decide which one you would like to tast. Just to let you know (not that it will help you): everything is delicious. As we had our wedding cake from Klement's (which was eaten up from the guests immediatly), we together with our parents and friends had to try all those cakes and sweets. But everytime with the same result: Delicious!

So my suggestion: go there, watch and the try out :-) Our current favourites (as it is the right time of the year): Krapfen (= doughnuts filled with apricot or raspberry jam or vanilla cream)

Not to forget, during the summertime they offer self made ice cream ....
